You've checked both the user-defined and the allusers folders?
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Favorites\Links
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Favorites\Links
If so, and it's still there, then some software on your system is
reinstalling it when it detects the missing entry. Does the link seem to be
related to a program you have installed? Where to start is within the
settings of that program.
