Based on my experience once a file gets to this point there really is
no recovery - regardless of what we may see on television shows. ;-)
Several months ago I encountered a situation in which 100s of my
documents were deleted and after recovering them some were in the same
state. I tried various things and utilities but so far many important
files remain lost. :-(
