Working at a site at the moment.

They have windows 2000 advanced server sp4. The network has two DC's.
When accessing the Default Domain Policy or the Default Domain
Controller Policy. I get the error that the GP Failed to open due to
insufficient rights or the path specified cannot be found.

Checked the SYSVOL\sysvol\policies\ directory and there are no
policies listed.

Is there anyway of recreating these as there is no backup to go to to
restore them.

I have searched these forums and advice from different people, comes
down to that there is no way to recover from this. Can anyone please
advise on this.

In a Windows2000 Environment you have to call PSS (Microsoft Support) to get
a tool that fix a restore of the default policies.
