Somehow, my teenage daughter was using the computer under my adm. account and
deleted the account. I am unable to access many sites, including the
revisition for security settings. I have F8 on starting WP prof. into safe
mode and was able to retrieve it on that one time, but now all the accounts
have no administrative abilities. Any ideas?
Thanks, LAWS

As you are using XP Professional, at the Welcome screen press Ctl-Alt-Del
twice. Log in as "administrator" (without the quotes) and change your
account back to Admin. (Start-Control Panel-Users). THEN - put a password
on it. And THEN - create a LIMITED account for your daughter's use, and
DON'T tell her your admin password.

You are not allowed to delete an account if you are logged in as that
account. So, she might have renamed the account, but

Go to
http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windo...in-XP-Pro.html

Scroll down, about 7/8 of the way, to a post by Calinda.

Thanks for your help. I did login as the administrator but it would not let
me change any security settings, saying i had no authority. I tried with all
the accounts to change settings and none of them would let me. THere are 2
accounts that under user accounts, are listed as administor accounts. UGH. I
think the concrete under this second floor window is going to be the new home
for this computer?????
Thanks, LAWS

When I go into safe mode, I am able to get the administrator account to
appear. But I have not been able to get the adminstrator's account onto my
nonsafe mode. Any suggestions? The control/altdelete did not work. Also,
when in safe mode, i tried to go to internet option in the tools to add
trusted site but internet could not be connected when in safe mode. Thanks,
Laws
