Microsoft expert,

My home laptop has been connected to a microsoft windows
network with work group name(i.e XYZ). When I hook my
laptop to another microsoft windows network(i.e ABC) for
faster internet access, 'My Networks Places' will show a
new work group name(XYZ) even I have disconnected/power
down my laptop.

Do you know how to delete the work group name(xyz)?

most people around here aren't paid by Microsoft, though some
may still be considered "Microsoft experts". :-)

You can delete shared folders in My Network Places, but I'm not
sure whether you can delete workgroups. But they will go away on
their own after a couple of minutes. Windows works that way.

The shared folders sometimes go away on their own only after
something like two weeks, but they should go away too.
