What version of FrontPage are you using?
Open FrontPage
Select Publish. This will connect you to the server.
When you are connected to the server, FrontPage will display all your files
on the server. This is displayed on the right side of the split screen.
The Left side of the split screen are the files on your computer. When you
publish to the server, files move from the left to the right.

You can click on a (and all) file on the right side and hit the Delete Key
on your keyboard. This will delete from the server. Files on the left side
(your computer) will not change.

The website is corrupt. I cannot publish to it-- it says it does not exist
and then FP wants to create it. I then go ahead and get a server error. So
the site is never shown with the files therefore I cannot delete the site,
files, etc. The site is on localhost or Inetpub.

I have FP 2003 which I am running on XP Pro with IIS.

Can I go into IIS and right click the console tree and then delete? Will
this work without messing anything in IIS up?
I would hate to have to reinstall Windows XP to fix IIS.

I don't understand how IIS and FP intermesh and I have messed things up. I
had one website (the corrupted one) which I had deleted. But until I had
deleted it, I had recreated one with changes and had it as the alternate.
So I went into IIS and deleted the bad one. Then I goofed things up by
renaming the alternate to the name of the corrupted one. Now I cannot
access that one in FrontPage. Is there some way to get FP and IIS in sync
with each other? It is just the one website that I renamed.

Thanks as always for information.

When you say localhost or InetPub, are you sure you didn't publish it to
your own computer as oppose to an Internet provider (that you are paying
for)?

I don't know if that will work but if it is corrupted, I can't see the harm
of doing that. I can't help you but I'm sure somebody with more experience
than me will give it a shot.
Sorry
