How to delete tasks when moved to completed folder

When moving a completed task to the completed folder from the current task
list, a copy remains on the current task list. It used to remove itself but I
must have changed a setting. Any way to get the completed item to disappear?

How are you moving it? What version of Outlook?

Drag and drop from the to-do-list pane to the completed items folder in
Outlook 2007
