What you're seeing is a newsgroup, not e-mail. Newsgroups are like bulletin
boards: people post questions, and other people post answers to their
questions.

This particular newsgroup, for instance, is microsoft.public.access,
intended for questions about Access, the database product that's part of
Microsoft Office Professional.

You can't delete newsgroup postings, but assuming you're not interested in
this newsgroup, you can unsubscribe from it.

I am told I have 13,272 unread message for a total of 13,300. How do I
delete all these messages from people I do not know, and who are writing
messages I do not even understand???????
