Modifying the registry should be your last resort, if all
else fails. As a first measure, if disabling the adapters
does not work, launch the Device Manager and look
at the details of the offending adapter. Under "Driver
Details" you will find the name of the driver file. Make
a note of it, rename it to something else, then reboot
your machine. You may have to repeat the process
several times until you find the culprit.
After finding the culprit, you can either uninstall it
properly, or modify the registry.
