Hi,
hope I can explain my problem clearly.
Since re-installing XP it has created new accounts in the
documents and settings folder.
Where before mine was called Gaz it has one now called
Gaz.Computer.
Question is how do I change the name of this back to just
Gaz as I have found that I cannot delete this folder and
it appears to have all the settings I need so deleting it
appears not to be an option.
Another question is that I cannot delete one of the old
folders as within it there are sub folders with names
like:- G109EJGL, IPFSLKFM and 80S2LDEO which when I try
to delete them a message comes up which says
"Cannot delete 18360[1].:Cannot find the specified file.
Make sure you specify the correct path and file name."
These sub folders each contain a single file of 0kb in
size.

Hope someone understands this and can explain in simple
language how to deal.

TIA
Gaz

You cannot rename it. You can "take ownership" of the old files and
transfer them to the new profile.

See Help and Support and search for "take ownership"

Confusing, try going to my computer, search, type in the
name of a folder or file, when it shows,L.click, then
select in the sub-menu,change name,or try R.click,change
name .You can delete anything from search so long as
its not being used at that time(opened).

Thanks for your help Guys,
Managed to delete the three weird sub folders.
Still not sure about renaming the main user account, but
I suppose that's something I will have to live with.

If you can think of anything else it would be much
appreciated.

Thanks Again
Gaz
