delete netwqork drive files

I am on a network using W2K server, WinXP Pro clients,
Active Directory and clients are having problem with
deleting files. They delete one fiel OK and when they
delete the next file they get the message: file is open,
in use by another program, or you do not have permission.
Can someone give me a solution to this?
