Delete Msg Before Downloading - POP Account

I have a family member on dial-up access using Outlook. With Outlook Express,
he was able to create a rule that specified that if an e-mail had an
attachment over a certain size, the action was to delete it from server. This
was done before the e-mail was downloaded thus saving a lot of time when
large attachments were inadvertantly sent.

Now that he has upgraded to Outlook 2007, this is no longer an option. I see
that you can create a server-side rule, but this only seems to be an option
when your server is an Exchange server.

Is there any way this can be done?

Thanks in advance.

Within Options>Send/receive settings there is an option to download headers
only for items larger than **Kb
Maybe that helps

Not with Outlook. Outlook cannot query the server for message attributes and
then act upon a message prior to downloading. Outlook must download a message
in order to act upon it with a rule. Many people use add-ins like mailwasher
or spampal to control server-side content.
