I have been deleting emails in Outlook 2003, but they are not being deleted
in Hotmail when I send and recieve. I am using Connector. What setting do I
need to change? Thanks!

Hotmail doesn't delete messages when you send and receive. How are you
trying to delete them?

Brian,
I have been using Hotmail and Outlook briefly. I have a laptop and am
offline most of the time. I thought the one of the advantages of using
Outlook was that when I delete something and then go online the two
synchronise and the deleted messagees disappear in Hotmail. When I delete a
message in Hotmail, it is deleted in Outlook. I expect the same from Outlook
to Hotmail. What settings do I need to change?

I delete messages by hitting the X or delete button in both applications.

That brings me to another question. When I delete in Outlook while offline,
I am asked 3 times to sign in before Outlook will delete the email if I am
reading the email. What setting do I need to change for that?

Thanks for your help.

it should delete them when you sync...

is outlook listed as offline in File menu? (I can delete offline without
problems.)

are you using the old hotmail or did you convert the acct to a live acct?

Diane,

Thanks for your response. I was offline when it asked 3 times for me to
sign in when I was deleting items. How do I stop that? Each time I deleted
an item, I was asked to sign in 3 times. Too much signing in just to delete.

So the file menu said you were working offline? I have no idea what is wrong
offhand - it stays offline for me and deletes without asking me to log on.

You are using the connector, not HTTP account type, right? (Either way, it
should work if set to work offline in the File menu.)

Diane,

I didn't know I needed to check off "working offline" on the File menu. I
thought it would know if I had a signal!

Thanks!
