delete an email, I get an error message "The folder is full"

Just recently I started getting this message when trying to delet an email or
a folder in Outlook 2007. The "Deleted Items" folder is now empty. So, when I
try to delete an individual email received, I should be able to move it into
the "Deleted Items" folder.
