Delete Conversation Rule

Is it possible to use the delete conversation rule to delete all mail except
the most recent? Right now it will delete all of the conversation messages.
Secondly, using the "delete conversation rule", I would have to have a rule
for every conversation if I use the subject line.
I would like a generic rule that could be applied to the inbox and sent
items that would delete all conversations except the most recent of each one.
I thought of using the RE: heading somehow but the number of RE:'s varies.
