Hellôô World!

Can anyone out there inform me how to delete (i.e.
completely remove) old contacts from MSN Messenger &/or
Windows Messenger? It is observed that you can delete
people from your Contact List that you know for sure no
longer use their old addy (sign on) but unless they
delete you (as well) they still remain there sitting
greyed out (hence un-removable) in CyberLimboLand
in "Privacy" & "My Blocked List" (User
Properties: 'Unknown Status')

Attempts to edit the registry have met with limited
results...

Greetings Garry,

Contacts are stored on the Messenger servers so you can't just go through the registry and
try to forcibly remove people.

As you've already determined, if the Delete option is grayed out in the Privacy tab, you
cannot remove them, there's no way around this.

Thanx for your prompt reply Jonathan!

One then, can only conclude there must be many-many
contacts stored on the Messenger servers needlessly!
Surely a 'clean-up' is in the best interests for all
concerned & there is a way around this - it is a simple
programming issue...

Hi Garry,

To be honest, I've been working on something exactly like that, although it's all
hypothetical at this point.
