I have deleted an unwanted account. However, I'm now getting a prompt for
that account's logon details every time Outlook runs the send/receive
process. The unwanted account is still showing in the send/receive progress
dialog box even though it is now deleted from my account list.

Can you see it in the profile in Control panel, mail? If so, what type of
account is it?

Thank you for responding Diane. No, the deleted account is not showing in
the profile either. It was an IMAP service. I had previously successfully
deleted another account which was POP3. It's just this one which won't go
away. I've now created a new profile with my one remaining email and
switched to that profile. That seems to be OK. If you have any idea as to
why the delete procedure didn't work completely with this account I'd still
be interested to know. Thanks.

Are you using Outlook 2007? I've noticed similar problems with IMAP accounts
and new profile is the only fix. You may also need to delete the pst created
by the imap acct.
