On my additional HD that i installed a couple of years
ago, i kept getting the 'delayed write failed' error
message any time i copied new data on to it. All it has
on it is a load of music. I thought it might be because
i was running out of disk space but i'm not sure. I'm
running windows xp.

i tried doing a scandisk but it wouldn't start, so i went
into safe mode and did it, but it got halfway through and
stopped. then i restarted my PC and i can't even see it
in My Computer.

if it helps my system is a dell dimension xps b1000 and
the extra HD is a fujitsu 30gb assigned as D: (sorry i
can't be more exact but i can't see it can i?)

any suggestions?

Hello

Sounds like maybe your harddrive is going out and was giving
you signs to have it replaced, that is somethign you may want to
consider doing.

i'm afraid i can't do that as it has a lot of important
files on it.
My main problem is that i can't see it at the mo, it
ain't in device manager, so what do i have to do to find
it? i think its connected to the primary IDE controller

Hello

The additional drive that you have installed how is it setup
as master or slave, either way you will have to get your data
off of it ASAP because in time it will fail
