All of a sudden started getting Delayed Write Failed popups that refer to
\$Mft. No other description is given and the event log shows nothing else
except the popup event. Could I have a failing drive or controller?
Everything seems to be working correctly and am having no other issues with
the server... yet.

I'd download and run a disk diagnostic utility from the drive manufacturer's
web site.

Funny thing, it only seems to happen when the backup is running. This
server is my mail server and backup server. Wierd. I'll see if I can find
a diagnostic for the drive(s). Thanks.

Which drive is displaying this message? It typically is indicative of a
hardware issue.

If you are backing up to removable storage, then the issue may be hardware
related. Turn disable write caching on the drive.
