We are using a w2k server sp4 as a file server and the most of the clients
are using XP sp1. Sometimes, we get the the following pop-up message on the
server like
"Application popup: Windows - Delayed Write Failed : Windows was unable to
save all the data for the file
\Device\HarddiskVolume3\Pub\Share\svabmallar\NT\User\Files\svab\Dagordning.d
ot. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your
computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file
elsewhere. "

This message is cut from the system eventlog on the server and the users are
unable to save the data. I'm not sure what the message are on the client
side because I don't now the name of the clients who got the problem.

I found the article 321733 and thought that was the solution but the file
server has NOT SMB signing enabled.

We have an AD 2003 in interim mode and the only thing I can find is that SMB
signing is enabled on the DCs GPO. The problem server are only a member
server and is not situated in the DCs OU.

The temporary solution is to reboot the server and then it seems to work
fine for a month or so.

Any idé ?

Sincerely

\\Jonas B

On the server it's Event ID 50 with the Hex code 0028: 10 00 00 c0 at the
end. It looks like the article 816004. I also got the event ID 26 but it's
not an sql application, it's just ordinary filesharing. But what's the
solution ?
