I am running Windows ME operating system. I am currently

Next, this could be caused by adware, spyware, parasites.
Try:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot S&D from http://security.kolla.de/

Hi Sue - In IE6, Tools|Internet Options click on Accessibility on the
General Tab. Uncheck "Format documents using my style sheet", then OK out.
