With AntiSpyWare enabled, I have a considerable delay (15
to 20 seconds) in switching between "tabs" in Microsoft
Visio and Excel, as well as delayed responses using the
drop down menu on all Office products. With Anti Spyware
disabled, the problem disappears.
Does anyone else have this issue, or know of a work around
(apart from disabling AntiSpyware)?

I'd recommend doing an update install to see if it helps--please let me
know, either way:

Control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft antispyware, change, update
