hi to all, I am new to here. I just bought a new dell.
and I have a lil problem. I am having a 5 to 15 sec delay
opening any app. from right clicking on my cpu to IE. I
have a 2.6 P4 with 256 ram ( I know I need more ). I have
everything turned off in MSCONFIG. and still doing it.

Shane,

I'm no expert here, but from what you describe it sounds like your
applications are checking for something. Like they are checking to see if
you're connected to the internet, or that MS Messenger is running, etc.
Whatever is being checked is not running, then it times out and the app
opens. You may wish to start looking for something in this area.
