Everything I do on outlook takes 3 seconds before the program responds -
clicking on an e mail to read, moving the screen around, and (most annoying)
typing. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you fix it?
Thanks
Wally

I am using Norton 2007 that came with the laptop preloaded from Dell. I
don't get the delay with any other software including IE - just outlook e
mail.
Thanks for the interest and reply.

I was researching a problem for a client that is similar to this and
here is what I found:

- You need to open outlook as an administrator (by right clicking on the
exe file in the Office 12 folder). Then, go to tools/trust center/addins.
Then click on "go..." at the bottom. I would uncheck outlookaddins.
That solved all of my problems!
http://forums.techguy.org/business-a...7-so-slow.html

- I unchecked Outlookaddin in the Outlook 2007 Trust Center and
Outlook runs very fast now as does my complete system.

- Slipstick offers a few options:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/slow.htm

- We ran into this problem a lot after upgrading users to Outlook 2007,
particularly the users with laptops that connected and disconnected from
the
LAN frequently (to go to meetings, etc) We added this registry entry on
the server as recommended by MS Support and the problem went away:

Disable the session limit by setting the following value to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
Value: Disable Session Limit
Found at:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Soft..._22894498.html

However, I also found a patch that is a possible solution. Unfortunately
I cannot access this information at the moment. I will post back tomorrow
the rest.

MS offered an Outlook Performance Update. For details read
here: http://blogs.msdn.com/willkennedy/

There also is an issue if you have dell MediaDirect component
on your machine. Many have reported that uninstalling this was
there answer.

If you have a Cisco router: drop to a command prompt and run:
Netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Then there is the issue of an OST/PST that is over 2 gig, however
the Update mentioned above may fix that issue.
