Delay in Open file dialog Box

In windows-xp machine, when we try to open any document
from any application (like Outlook, Word, Excel), system
opens up dialog box to show folders and files.

Changing these folders takes lot of time and it gives
message of (Not Responding) and then start after some
time delay. Is there any solution or settings to make
this quick?
