Windows XP, Media Edition, SP 3
After bootup and browsing web pages the access to show my drives in "My
Computer" takes 3 minutes of the flashlight swinging before I can see my
drives.
It started 2 days ago and doing 2 System Restores did not fix it.
Can anybody help.

Look for any network drive that it may be attempting to attach to. This will
cause that sort of issue. You can start in "My Network Places"

Go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services/
right click on WIA (Windows Image Aquisition), go to
properties and click disable. Reboot.
