I'm working with a 4 station peer-peer network consisting
of one W2k, 2 Win 98SE and 1 Win98 computers. For a short
period the printer local to the Win98 system was shared
and worked fine from Windows software running on the W2k
system. However the sharing did something that caused
problems for ancient DOS software run from within Win98.
I unshared the printer and the DOS problems have gone away
except for a delay before printing starts. I've checked
the Dos printing properties and it is not spooling, but
rather printing directly to the printer. How could
sharing/unsharing the printer have caused this and how can
I correct it?
