Degree symbols in E-Mail messages

I use MS Outlook XP and I get degree symbol in html emails, is there anyway
of that not happening?

Hi,
If you use Word as E-mail editor and you type i.e. "degree" as text, the
autotext
is set to replace it with the symbol. To stop it, open Word,
Insert<Autotext<Auto correct tap
Find the setting for what the symbol replaces and click and delete it.

Hi Dave ,
Thank you for the reply but it didn't seem to work I currently have MS
Outlook to use HTML should I change that to either riech text or text to make
the degree symbol not show up??

Hi,
What do you mean "it shows up"? It doesn't show up by itself does it?
It shows up when you are typing a mail. At what key?
Are you using Word for editing mail?
Switching to Richtext is worth to try.
