I always "safestart" when defragmenting. Then nothing's running in the
background to cause to start over and over again because some program or
other is writing to the hard disk in the background. And for good measure, I
shut off the cable modem as well. No problems.
Anybody else does this?
I press the CTRL button down before windows starts and then opt for the
SafeStart.
