There is no "scandisk" utility in Windows XP. XP uses "Checkdisk".
Windows XP has a "Checkdisk" error-checking utility that replaced
the old "Scandisk" utility in previous versions of Windows.

Utilize the following utility programs, at least monthly, in this order:
