I just analyzed my disk for defragmentation using the "Disk
Defragmenter" in the Computer Management console.
It reports thta some files are rather fragmented.
But I cannot for the life of me understand how a file with the file
size 1Kb can be fragmented into 148 fragments!
Surely a file of 1Kb will fit into a single cluster of 4 kB and
therefor will be impossible to fragment?
How did this happen?

Simple, it is because there is only 1kb used out of the space reserved
for the file.
