Is it possible to schedule a Defrag on Windows 2000
Server? I dotn want to have to go in at 2am every friday
night to do this on 135 servers. Is there a way to do this
with built in tools ?? or a cheap application to use for
this?

I've posted this question in several areas and have not
seen a response yet. I did get told, however, not to post
questions in several places (by a "Microsoft MVP"), but
did not get an answer from them. If you find out wanna
let me know? Thanx!

>If I remember correctly, you can only do it manually

unless you use a third party program like Diskkeeper,
which is a more robust version of the Win2k defrag utility.

Defrag is an executable you can call from a command line in XP, and I
believe in Server 2003. You can schedule a defrag job for each local disk in
XP and I believe in Server. Have you looked in the help for "defrag" and
task scheduling? I do believe these are now native to the OS.
