Defrag and Scan functions suddenly won't work on my XP Home

's Computer Specifications

Have XP Home on Medion laptop, no problems up to now. Have RegClean and
Norton Antivirus. Cleanup works OK, but Scan in My Computer properies/tools
no longer operates (Cannot Start) and Defrag gives message Cannot Start - any
idea's?

Hi Moby,

It could simply because you have third-party software that undermines your
Defrag function. For example, if you have Diskeeper, the Windows Defrag
function will not be able to work properly because Diskeeper takes control of
that function.
