Defrag and Cpacity mystery

A few months ago when I ran defrag I got an error message about something in
MCC not operating properly with Diskeeper lite. Since then large amounts of
file space are appearing as fragmented (red), even though the report says
that the disk is fine. At the same time, the available sapce on my hard
drive has decreased to about 10% (from about 40%). I have tried to open MCC
but could not decipher what to do with it. I also downloaded the newer trial
version for Diskeeper and got the same outcome- including a warning about
volume space. Since diskeeper will not let me look at the drive map I cannot
see what the files are that are appearing.

I am running XP Tablet SP3 on a Lenovo x61T. All updates are current. Any
help appreciated.

Please post the complete Error Report.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to
Empty your Recycle Bin and Remove Temporary Internet Files. Also
select Start, All Programs, accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp,
More Options, System Restore and remove all but the latest System
Restore point.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Gerry,

Probably should have said that I have done all that. We are talking about
what looks like (if I eye it up) about 50 GB worth of data. So my guess is
that this is something way past the basics. As I said, it started when the
defrag program reported problems talking with MCC.

Thanks
