I have a 160GB drive as a second HDD. I installed large disc support from
Maxtor. all seemed OK for a long while. I rang defrag (not for the first
time I think. I went away and left it - when I came back Defrag had stopped
(on an error as it wasn't complete - but I didn't catch the error). When I
looked at the drive in Explorer I noticed that some files / directories
(about 20%) - latest to be written were missing.
Otherwise (!) all was OK. It was as if the defragger in Win2k thought the
drive was smaller than it was. I am now not willing to defrag this drive
again!!
Any solutions / thoughts please? Thanks, Mel
