My Windows Defender definition update won't update. It says my definitions
are 90 days overdue but when I click on update, it does nothing. Why?

Tried that and what I got was " R U sure U want to uninstall this product?"
Click yes and it reads, "Action is only valid for products that are currently
installed." This is on the windows installer. Help! I don't have a clue what
it means. Isn't Defender installed on my system & if not, how doI do it? It
is certainly downloaded. Thanx..........................

Go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and apply all offered
updªtes

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs?

WD v. 1.1.1347.0
Engine v. 1.1.1372.0
Signature v. 1.14.1408.8

There are many pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and
signature update with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.

If you are up to date with Windows Update, please follow KB 915105 as the
next step:

Susanna,
I have exactly the same problem you described trying to update Defender. If
you find a solution, please advise; I will do the same for you (via this
thread)
