You could name a cell, and enter the variable in that cell. For example:
Select cell A1
Click in the Name Box, to the left of the formula bar.
Type a name for the range, e.g. t
Press the Enter key
Select another cell, and enter a formula that includes the variable
name, e.g. =B1+t
As you change the value in cell A1, the formula result will change.
