Defiant Subtitle Text Boxes

Howdy! I have noticed that when you delete the text sub-box from either
the master or title master, PPT still inserts one into every new slide.
I have read that the fix for that is to simply move the box off of the
stage in the master pages. I was wondering if that is the true fix for
it or am I missing a setting somewhere?
