I tried to install Defender X64 on a new machine. The process appears to go
normally until it tries to start thee service. Then,I get an eror message
saying that service WinDefend can not be started. At that point the only
options are to retry orr cancel the installation. Does anyone have any
suggestions?

I have tried to install beta2 on my 64 bit systems and ran into the same
problem. The "fix" doesn't work for us. Upon manually starting the service,
it returns..."...Error 0x80070002: The system cannot find the file specified."

MsMpEng.exe is in the path as specified.

beta1 worked fine on these (50) machines.
