I have Defender x32 deployed on all machines. I followed this guide
http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=698.
We just got a new Dell Precision 690 with XP x64 and apparently we will be
deploying these from now on. The machine is still in testing, but I already
found out that my GP defender deploy won't run on it.
I downloaded Defender x64 and created admin image the same way. When I try
to add new package to the GP I get "Unable to deploy package. The package
does not support a Windows compatible platform"
The only thing I can think of is that either the workstation XP x32 SP2 that
I'm trying to create the GP on or the Domain Controller W2k3 x32 SP1 reject
it for some reason.
I installed admin pack on the x64 XP and when I try to edit GP I get
"Windows cannot find 'gpedit.msc'. Make sure you typed name ...."
So I opened gpedit.msc from the command like with this
gpedit.msc
/gpobject:"LDAP://CN={A5ADA5BD-41C3-4C86-8BF2-06B1296A6C51},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=internal,DC=my_domain,DC=com
After I tried to add the package again from the x64 workstation!!! it failed
with the same message.
Please, help.
