Starting around last November, the updates to Windows Defender
(KB915597) began failing on my Vista (Business) system. It hasn't worked
since then, always getting error 80070003.
I've done the drill recommended by Help -- stop update, delete all
files, restart it -- at least 5 times. That hasn't worked, obviously.
This doesn't keep me up at night, since I am running Norton -- which I
have turned off (as far as I can tell to turn it off, about 3 places)
and, attempting the update with it off, I still get the error.
Is there something I can do to eliminate this annoyance?
