I have had a problem for several months now ehere every defender update is
offered twice. I download and install the first time and then a couple of
minute slater it is offered again. I have checked my history and each update
appears to have been installed twice. Any suggestions for a fix?

I would recommend going to the security portal--see Engel's message adjacent
to this one--and downloading the appropriate definitions for your OS
version--if in doubt--get the 32-bit definitions.

Usually, applying the downloaded definitions from this source resolves this
problem in the longer term--just do that once, and watch to see what happens
over time--it should take care of it.
