Defender Update - what works

I've played around alot with trying to get automatic update to work with
Defencer 2. Finally I fond the (annoying) solution wthich at least works.
1) Reboot your system. Two Open a copy of Defeferder 2. Now, immediately do
the automatic update. It wil work. Any other path and you get the error
message reported by so many other users. Please fix. This is unacceptable.
