Hi All
I was having trouble installing the Windows Defender upgrade so read some of
the posts regarding same and followed instructions for ccleaner then on to
Windows Live OneCare Clean up scan. Thats when the problems started.

While trying to run Windows Live Cleaner it copied files to my computer then
it informed me that it was going to check something and would take about 4
minutes, possibly longer. Everything proceded fine for a while, starting at
12% complete and going up to 24% in a few minutes. That is where it stopped
and sat for 3 1/2 hours when I tried to cancel it with no luck. I Finally had
to use taskmanager to shut it
down. Earlier I had tried the same thing and shut it down after 1 1/2 hours.

Snoping around this is what I found in the >

Does anyone out there have any ideas on wht may be the problem? I sure would
appreciate any help anyone can give me. This is my first post here so I hope
it goes OK.

Hello DonS,

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administratºr.
This is the key!
The installation as an admin is not enough.
You needed to login as an Adm!n!stratºr.

One solution would be to go back to a restore point that predates the time
the problem was first noticed.

Have a look at this article. It may be relevant to your problem.

http://search.microsoft.com/results....S&q=0x800b0003

http://search.microsoft.com/results....S&q=0xe000022f

Be patient waiting for a response, it may take a couple of days or more
before the right person sees the question.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

This post ought to be seriously embarrassing to the OneCare Live folks, so I
hope you can post it to a forum where it will get read by folks related to
that program:

I'd try here, but I'm not sure which forum:

http://forums.microsoft.com/windowso....aspx?siteid=2

Now--about the install issues--can you say more about what happens?
