I am getting this error across the board on all my XP SP2 & Server 03 SP2

Hello Chris,
Any clues in the System events log or Windows Update log you can see? This error number is too small for the info in my data Base, usually is 0x00000000 See if is other error # at least with 8 numbers or letters 0x???????? Hi Hoiberg,
Much better, thank you. Try this. Your IT dept/Admin must permit and publish WDs definitions from the internal corporate WSUS server. So talk/mail him/them and ask for permission. Services installation issues http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=906602 If your windows update is pointing to your local WSUS, then you must include the Windows Defender in synchronization setting. In Products selection, please include Windows Defender In Update classifications, please include Definition Updates See this KB... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919772 You must synchronize the server and approve the definition for clients to get the latest definition. WSUS is configured properly via Group Policy and Updates do flow down for Defender Updates once I have approved them on WSUS. But prior to approving them on WSUS for distribution to the corporate network, I run manual Windows Updates on the PC's and Servers in my test enviornment to make sure there are no issues. Then I approve them on WSUS and they are available to everyone. Nope,
Ran the Update again just a couple minutes ago and whaalaa', it's updating properly through Windows Update. Hi Chris,

Engel and Hoiberg i just got this from Home Users from PA Bear, Just taking
a chance that these might be related with servers being a work in progress. He is talking to me about Defender. <eg> YVW. It's been a while since I ventured into that snake pit. Things are looking kinda quiet there overall, other than updates being slow-as-molasses to come in. (The first of servers at the new server farms went live recently. I kinda/sorta think this has something to do with the lousy performance/reliability of the WU/MU servers, myself.
