First, let me say that I use Spysweeper, Defender, and McAfee Security
without significant problems. However, I was contacted by a user from AOL
who was using Defender, Spysweeper, and Norton Security. The user is not an
advance beta tester, just one of the "regular folk" who happened to givie
Defender a try. She had unknowingly blocked Spysweeper with Defender and it
was not functioning properly. Then she discovered that her Norton Security
was also disabled. I have not been able to determine why or get any
specifics. She had unplugged her PC and was using an older one that could
barely send emails to communicate. I advised her to uninstall Defender and do
a system restore to repair the other two programs. After some reflection, I
uninstalled Defender from my own PC. I have noticed that I am accessing web
pages faster and my email program is functioning more normally. Sending email
had begun to feel like squeezing mail throught a keyhole. Why? I don't know.
But Defender is gone for now, and MSAS is back.
