Defender stopped working. I downloaded to reinstall and it says I have a
version running and need to uninstall it first. Trying to uninstall it can
not find the msi file. I searched and there is no .msi file for defender.
So I can not remove it and I can not use it. Looks like a file got deleted.

Hello W7ZR,

I need more information here - What OS are you running? Are you running
Ccleaner or other Registry cleaners? Are you running Windows Live ObeCare?

Running XP Pro SP2. I did use VComm FixIt utilities 7 for a reg clean up.
Never had problem with it before.

Hi W7ZR,

FYI
Windows Live OneCare, is a computer security service developed by Microsoft
for its Windows operating systems. An annual subscription is US$49.95, which
can be used on up to three computers.

So we can scrash that program.

Now, with the following url:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...c-a99144abc9cc

Can you follow the intructions given by Bill S.

Let us now.
