Today, I attempted to update the program using the Defender update program
button and received what I believe to be the same error code/message that I
mentioned in yesterday's posting - "...Defender was unable to complete
update: 0x80240016. The device does not recognize the command". I
immediately closed that message box and re-did the update and received the
message that all was updated and nothing needed to be updated. Like I said
earlier, makes no sense to me....

Hi Engal -

Update has nothing that I need. I checked my history and there appears at
least 15 instances of one update and probably 20 of another - either
autoamtically downloaded or by the update site. I just checked for updates
using the update button in Defender and was advised that all is updated, yet
I still see that it's been 50 days since it's been updated - according to the
program.
