Defender Error 0x800705b4

After running full scan, Defender locks up before completing scan. stops at:-
44.31 min's\42505057 objects scaned and c:\documents+settings johncc\My
Documents\My data Sources\+ new SQL.server. I can only shut defender down via
Task manager.I have been unable to uninstall Defender from Add & remove
programe. Are there any specific, Defender help places to go to ? Thanks.
