Mikeyhsd,

I have the same problem. Automatic scanning does not work on my computer.
Manual scanning does work. No one has been able to give me a fix for this,
yet.

This is a bug--Microsoft has acknowledged this and will change the behavior.

There's only one post--I believe the thread starts with a user complaining
that a weekly scan is a valid choice within the program, and a Microsoft
post acknowledging that this situation doesn't make sense. You can learn a
lot from these groups by filtering [from] on [MSFT] and just glancing
through those messages.
